The European Quality Assurance Register acknowledges the credibility of
the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education
On September, 30th of 2009, AGAE was included on the EQAR Register
taking into account the international external review report after an
international external assessment and the substantial compliance with the
European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance.
Only 17 quality assurance agencies are included in this registry which
aims to foster the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)
by raising the level of transparency in quality assurance.
In doing so, EQAR lists those quality agencies operating in the EHEA
considered solvent and trustworthy. To join the Register, agencies have to
successfully pass an international external assessment which verifies their
compliance of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance
(ESG).
The EQAR registry was founded by the European associations bringing
together universities and institutions of higher education, students and quality
assurance agencies —EUA(European University Association), EURASHE
(European Association of Institutions in Higher Education), ESU (European
Students Union) and ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in
Higher Education)—.
The best guaranty of trust
On February 2009, AGAE became full member of the European
Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). This
achievement has significantly strengthened the credibility and trust given by
the Andalusian Universities and society in general to the work undertaken by
AGAE.
In line with this argument, the inclusion of AGAE in EQAR reinforces the
Agency commitment with the level of transparency and objectivity in its
processes including evaluation of officially recognized university programs,
evaluation of research groups and research projects and the teaching staff
evaluation.
